More About High Point Cross Country Ski Center

About

16 ft wide trails are groomed for classic and skate skiing using the same snowcat they used during the last winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Snowcat grooming has the advantage of preparing the snow for better skiing in the most challenging weather and snow conditions. Bring your dog for skijoring. The trail layout makes it the best for beginner skiers, but expert skiers can test themselves on the "Norwegian Hill". Keep an eye out for the abundance of wildlife.

In the shadow of the High Point Monument, at the northernmost tip of New Jersey, is the High Point XC Ski Ctr. Discover an alpine hollow of lakes, trees, wildlife, and sweeping vistas in the Tri-state area. With most of the trails over 1600 ft in elevation it guarantees that High Point is the snowiest spot in the greater New York City metropolitan area. Trails are marked by National Standards - everything from Beginner to Expert. Skijorers are welcome with their dogs on a leash. The highest point on the snowshoe trail, 1803 ft. is also the state summit. Trails are wide and groomed for both skating and classic skiing on all 15 km. Additional 8 km of single track is available for designated snowshoeing passing the highest point in New Jersey, 1803 ft. Several locations on the ski trails have views over the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York states. The High Point State park is known for its abundance
