Suicide Six Terrain
Skiing history was made in Woodstock in 1934 when local residents rigged up a Model T Ford engine at the base of Gilbert's Hill to power America's first ski tow. Two years later, Bunny Bertram opened a commercial ski area just north of Gilbert's Hill which soon became known as Suicide Six. Today, the area offers 23 trails. It transports its skiers with two chair lifts and a J-bar. Mid-December marks the opening of Suicide Six, and throughout the season skiing and riding are augmented by Mother Nature, our own snow guns, and superior grooming until closing in late-March.
