Mount Ruapehu-Turoa Terrain
Mt Ruapehu has something for everyone: world class learner facilities, terrain parks for all abilities, an action-packed events schedule, and the best spring skiing in New Zealand. Turoa has a fully sealed access road and on-mountain facilities include a full rental service and workshop, licensed cafes, Vertical shop, childcare centre and fully equipped Accident & Medical Centre. Snow School offers a huge range of products to cater for everybody’s needs, from beginners’ packs to private tuition. If you’re not a skier or snowboarder you can play in designated sliding areas. On a good day the hike to Mt Ruapehu's Crater Lake is well worth it for views and for the 1000m vertical ride back down. Guided backcountry trips and a free Mountain Hosting programme operate throughout the winter, taking you to the best snow. The terrain at both ski areas is varied and vast, making them suitable for all ability levels and you can access both ski areas with one lift pass.
