Alpine Meadows Reviews

We skied Alpine 11/28/12. The slopes were were uncrowded and never had to wait to get on a lift The conditions were perfect; some of the best that I have ever skied. The only downside was the that lodge was very crowed at lunch time. Overall, we has a great day. I would highly recommend Alpine to anyone who is at least an intermediate level skier. However there are very few beginners trails and so its not a great place if you are just starting off.

i was up there yesterday and caught the tail end of the last storm. the powder was fresh but the mountain was completely ungroomed. moguls on every run - big ones at that. we tried going to the backside of the mountain but were met with LONG and FLAT cat trails that left me unbuckling and kicking half the time i was on the mountain. not a good place for snowboarding; definitely a skier's mountain. terrain park was practically nonexistent (maybe because of the snow?) but crowds weren't as bad considering it was president's day weekend. i got a good deal on passes through craigslist, but i wouldn't pay $77 for that again. plus, they ran out of chicken fingers in the cafe at 1:00, so that was a bit of a turn off. they should have been prepared for a holiday weekend.

I skiied on Dec 5 & 6th. Packed powder until the Blizzard hit us on Dec 6th and the lifts shut down due to high winds. Alpine got hit with 3 feet of fresh light puffy snow which was like the stuff from Utah/Colorado! Can't wait to ski this weekend on another blizzard like conditions! Bring it on! Alpine is great!

Very nice mellow resort. I've had several very nice days of skiing there, although for some reason it's always blizzard conditions when we go. They also have a very nice ski school for kids and were extremely cooperative when our son decided he didn't want to ski because the weather was too bad. They gave us a complete refund. Only downside is the traffic can be bad leaving at the end of the day.

horrible place to take children over the holiday! instructors were packing kids into the terrain park without remorse. I was cut off every time and had to bail several times to avoid landing on kids as young as 3. I was being extremely respect full and while riding and on the phone making the complaint and both times I feel I was just given lip service.
