It's a cool place
Posted on 02/06/2013 by: Chris

I haven't been to this place until yesterday and let me say it was fun. The runs are awesome but they seemed to be some what short. That or I was going to fast. I was upset that the racing run was closed when I went. Most of the staff don't speak English. The food on the mid point was not very good at all. Got hotdogs and a hamburger overall price for food was about $26 and tasted like junk. If it wasn't for the cool runs I may have never want to go back. So like I said great place for boarding.

Great Family Get Away!
Posted on 12/07/2011 by: Lorri Jones

Red River is the best place to take your family on a ski trip. We rent a house and all the extended family comes and we have a bast, even the ones who have deceided they are to old to ski go shopping and hang out at the ski lodge. Red River is a beautiful mountain with wonderful old mining town feel.

Horrible service, awful skiing
Posted on 12/26/2010 by: Mike Roberts

There are only 6 out of 57 trails open. Bought lift tickets in advance, and now they will not give any kind of a refund. The lady in the office said you shouldn't buy lift tickets in advance, so it's my fault! Every day they tell you not to worry, more trails and lifts will be open tomorrow, but that never happened. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Even ski shops in town will recommend going to another resort. There are a lot of unhappy people here.

Nice small town

The best thing about Red River is the lifts are right in town, many rooms are just a short walk to the slopes. Plenty of good restaurants in town. The mountain is good for intermediate and beginners.

Great place to ski or snowboard! Only downfall is it starts getting icy towards end of the day but that's usually the last run or so. Overall super fun and great for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.

Easy Access
Posted on 12/29/2008 by: Shawn Fogo

We ski Red River every year. We don't always stay at the same place but we always find a great deal on lodging and have never been disappointed with the accommodations. The skiing is as good as anywhere in new mexico or southern colorado. But the real reason we love Red River is the easy access. The whole town is just a short walk to a lift, and the numerous eateries and bars are all within walking distance too! Its a great combination for a good time day and night.

Awesome, IF they have snow :-)
Posted on 12/14/2008 by: Anonymous

Red River is a great for families on a budget who still want to have a great winter vacation. It is not overcrowded or overpriced. Really the only variable is weather. They make alot of snow, but only on a few major runs, so if there is not alot of natural snow, then the skiing is very limited. I have gone here lots of times, and it has been way fun with almost all of the mountain open, and way lame, with most of it closed.

Winter Vacation in Red River
Posted on 11/28/2008 by: Dale Abbott

Our family has made it a tradition to visit Red River every winter for our ski vacation. This litte town we see when we come driving over the ridge is a site of pure enjoyment each year. We all cheer as we come around and see the town below. We have stayed at numerous hotels in the town and they are all very close to the lifts. I have tought my 2 children how to ski here at Red River and the family oriented vibe is well appreciated and adorned by our family. I would recommend this place to anyone but especially to families. We feel very comfortable leaving our little ones in ski school and our teen ager skis by himself at times with out worry.

Family Ski
Posted on 12/28/2006 by: Dale

Ever since having kids we have gone skiing in Red River. This mountain is very family oriented and the cost is minimal in comparison with other resorts we have been to. We drive in from Austin, TX every year now and have good family fun TOGETHER. I did find that waiting until Jan or Feb the snow is much better and in more abundance. Would recommend to everyone. Nice people.
