Closest Thing to Big Mountain Skiing in the Midwest

Skied here for the first time on 12/28 & 12/29/12 as part of a 5 area "tour" of MN and WI resorts. I've skied all over the Midwest as well as the west and east, and this is the closest thing to big mountain skiing in the region. It's definitely worth the 7+/- hour drive from southern WI where I live. One of the 4 "mountains" wasn't open, but we still found lots of variety and seemingly new ways to the bottom each time we got off of the lift. The crowds seemed to naturally spread out creating relatively short lift lines. The border terrain was pretty limited while we were there but it appears it will be fairly significant and diverse once fully operating. On top of all of that, we were blessed with 6+ inches of honest to god powder on our second day! We're definietly going back.
OMG this place is the best i even got lost going down a slope! hahahah... So thsi place is huge and fun a place for all your family... You can learn, practice and challenge your snowboarding and skiing skills
great place to go! the views are gorgeous! with lake superior off to the east it is breathtaking. a bit expensive, but all in all worth it.

This is a wonderful family ski and board resort. All levels of expertise welcome. Stay on site and ski in and out of your condo. Stay yonder down the road at many locations some right on the beautiful shores of lake Superior. Helpful staff. Rental gear in just your size available. Lovely gondola lift.
