About Chatter Creek

In the spring of 2005 Chatter Creek was granted a 90 square km addition to its current operating area. We now have 238 square km of skiing terrain to offer. That is almost 7 times the size of Whistler / Blackcomb. All this for 36 guests per tour. Our terrain extends through alpine, glacier, trees, old burns and clear cuts.

Whatever the weather we can normally find great skiing conditions. The peak elevation at Chatter Creek for skiing is just under 10000 feet with most runs between 1500 and 2500 vertical feet. Most of the skiing is above 6000 feet.

Chatter Creek Catskiing is located in South East British Columbia, Canada. Just north of Golden. We have the best Glacier Skiing access for snowcat skiing in North America. Skiing the glaciers at Chatter Creek brings you close to 10000 feet in elevation and gives you incredible views. The treeline at Chatter Creek is at 7000 feet so there is almost 3000 verticle feet of alpine skiing. The lodge is located at 5250 feet.

We have been in operation for 9 years and have 3 snowcats to service 36 guests.

Guide Certifications & Experience

At Chatter Creek we take safety very seriously. Each 12 person group is lead by a ACMG, UIAGM or CSGA qualified lead guide. The lead guide goes through an extensive training program to teach them to safely lead skiers and snowboarders through the mountains.

The last person in the group is the tail guide. The tail guide follows the group making sure every person gets down safely.

Chatter Creek also belongs to Helicat Canada Association. Helicat Canada is an oganization of helicopter and snowcat skiing operators in British Columbia. This organization performs its own internal inspections of members and has rigid bylaws for safety.
