Shanty Creek Resorts (SCR) is partnering with Short’s Brewing Company, the regionally and nationally acclaimed brewpub in Bellaire, MI, to develop a custom beer to celebrate Shanty Creek’s 50th Anniversary (1963-2013). The beer is slated to be released on Friday, December 21st at Ivan’s Mountainside Grill, located at the base of Shanty Creek’s Schuss Mountain. It will then be available exclusively at Shanty Creek’s F&B outlets.

The new brew, a schwartzbier, which literally translates to black lager, will be called “Black Diamond”—its name a nod to winter and skiing. Visually this German-style beer features an opaque, black color and a full, chocolatey flavor similar to stout or porter.
