About Squaw Valley
Host of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Squaw Valley is home to world-famous terrain that spans 3,600 skiable acres and six peaks. From the expansive mountaintop beginner area to unrivaled expert steeps, trees and bowls, the resort offers terrain for all abilities. Off the slopes, guests can take a spin on the open-air ice rink overlooking Lake Tahoe, spend an afternoon snowtubing, or soak up the sun at the mountaintop swimming pool and hot tub, open in the spring. In the base village, families can relax around the cozy fire pits or stroll the streets to peruse paint-your-own pottery studios, specialty wine shops, and fine art galleries. Dining options include gourmet pizza, Mexican cuisine, sushi, and traditional fare. Squaw Valley recently joined forces with neighboring Alpine Meadows, bringing the two ski resorts under common ownership. Skiers and riders can now access 6,000 skiable acres, 43 lifts and 270+ trails at Squaw and Alpine Meadows on the Tahoe Super Pass or any lift ticket.

Squaw has so much great terrain that it is hard to know where to start. The groomers, parks, great snow. The views, olympics, high camp, pool, rink, express lifts, etc. all make Squaw one of my favorite places. My best tim...More |
What's New This Season at Squaw Valley
The 2012-13 winter season marks year two of the Renaissance. Originally billed as the five-year, $50 million capital improvement plan bringing dramatic improvements to Squaw Valley alone – the Renaissance will now total nearly $70 million in improvements to both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows by winter 2015-16.
For 2012-13, skiers and riders can look forward to a new high-speed six-pack lift, enhanced snowmaking, new retail locations and the introduction of Burton's Learn to Ride (LTR) Program to our Ski & Snowboard School. The idea behind all of these improvements and those to come is to create a guest experience that is nothing short of extraordinary.
