About Boyne Mountain

Everett Kircher founded Boyne Mountain in 1947. This Bavarian style resort is located in the northwest lower peninsula of Michigan in Charlevoix County, about 250 miles north of Detroit and 17 miles south of Petoskey on US-131. As the Midwest’s premier four-season resort, Boyne Mountain offers snowsports, championship golf, the largest indoor waterpark in Michgan, world-class spa, lodging, dining, meeting facilities, a variety of outdoor activities and real estate opportunities. In addition to downhill skiing and riding, Boyne Mountain offers 35K of cross-country trails, a tubing park, ice skating, snowshoeing, Zipline Adventures, and a legendary SnowSports Academy.

A jam-packed calendar of events; activities and events are planned nearly every weekend. Olympian, Cary Adgate, is returning as a Boyne Resorts Ski Ambassador and as is active in the SnowSports Academy and on the slopes

What's New This Season at Boyne Mountain

This winter, Boyne Highlands adds another 40 Boyne Low-E fan guns and Boyne Mountain adds 10 of the proprietary snow guns. Both resorts have installed new electronic live-time signage at the base of the slopes, providing guests with easy access to the open/close status of trails and chairlifts. Boyne Mountain’s beginner chairlift, Boyneland, will see increased up-hill capacity this season with the addition of 13 triple chairs on the lift. Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain have partnered with Burton Snowboards to develop Riglet Parks at the resorts for the 2012-13 season. The parks are the first to be built in northern Michigan, and join just one other park in the state. Riglet Parks offer on-snow play areas with fun terrain and features designed to introduce children ages 3 to 6 to snowboarding.
