About National Forest Lodge
 National Forest Lodge has been a cross country skiing and snowshoeing destination resort in Northern Minnesota since the development of this remote area of the Superior National Forest. It's a remote, quiet setting only half an hour from Lake Superior's North Shore.
Beautiful, quiet cross country ski and snowshoe trails wind through 2,000 acres of the Superior National Forest. Thanks to being located at the top of the continental divide, snow comes early in the season and stays late, making for excellent conditions well into March.
Cozy, warm cabins with a charm all their own are nestled in the towering pines of the forest and provide the perfect place to settle into after a day on the trails! National Forest Lodge offers a unique winter get-away of great cross country skiing and snowshoeing, hearty food, and friendly hospitality.

100 yr old pines on narrow trails,
Nice variety of trails in a great setting. Close enough together so you can choose any length of trip, but far enough apart so you always feel like you are in the wilderness. Most of the forest has not been touched since 1920...More |
