About this Club

The Fox Valley Bicycle & Ski Club is located in the Fox River valley, approximately 30 miles due west of Chicago. The club pursues cross-country skiing during the off-season cycling months. The Fox Valley has an abundance of trails and forest preserves for local skiing; snow permitting. Monthly club meetings usually include a speaker or presentation related to skiing, biking, trails, or fitness. Guests always welcome.

Area Served

We serve the Fox Valley area of northern Illinois, which is located about 30 miles directly west of Chicago, Illinois. This includes the tri-cities of Saint Charles, Geneva, and Batavia, and the surrounding communities located in the counties of Kane, DuPage, W. Cook, and Kendall.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the Second Wednesday of each month; year-round.

Memberships

Trips & Events

When the snow allows (mostly January & February), we cross country ski-- in northern Illinois, with occasional day trips to southern Wisc. or Michigan. Our annual winter fun day/potluck is held early March at a cabin in one of the local forest preserves. Members enjoy a number of winter recreational activities, including Nordic (cross-country) skiing, sledding, tubing, snow-shoeing and hiking. We hold an annual New Year's Day bicycle ride/lunch. While our main focus is on biking April thru October, when temps are 40F or more, you may find us also doing winter biking.
